Project Manager - Utilities

We are currently seeking a Project Manager (PM) for our Wood Services department that are located in either TX, AR, LA, KS, OK or GA. The goal is to perform the planning, coordinating, reporting, and budgeting activities for services provided by Osmose to assist utilities with their aging infrastructure (i.e. wood poles).

This role interfaces with customers and represents Osmose regarding the project and will participate in the conceptual development of a project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation. The Project Manager will report to the Director of Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within cross-functional teams to plan, organize and direct customer-related projects, services, and activities.
  • Represent company in customer facing project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Monitor and control projects through administrative direction of operations and delivery resources to ensure projects is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead internal and customer-facing project reviews, conduct lessons learned, and prepare executive reporting dashboards
  • Manage projects to meet company financial objectives including forecasting, budgeting, cost variances, and revenue matching
  • Work with contract administrators to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, forecasted revenue and scheduling.
  • Recognize, track, manage, escalate, and resolve project issues as they arise throughout the project life cycle
  • Adhere to the project management process utilized by Osmose while looking for opportunities to continuously improve the process to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, computer science) preferred and 5+ years professional experience in utility or utility services industry management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong customer interaction skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel required; MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project.
  • Proficiency in project cost accounting required (track and reconcile revenue, cost of goods, accruals, invoiced totals).
  • Ability to coordinate and interact with multiple operations and systems engineering teams in multiple locations.
  • Ability to generate summary and year end project reports for internal and external distribution.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency working with Smartsheet.
  • PMP/PMI certification.

Travel:

Moderate travel required (10-30%), some overnight stay required.
