Enterprise Data Architect

Summary of position:
Join Osmose Utility Services, a leader in utility infrastructure assessment and maintenance, as we embark on a significant enhancement of our data capabilities. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and development of our enterprise data lake and to architect a self-service reporting infrastructure. This role is crucial as we aim to modernize our data architecture to support advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and help implement a scalable, efficient data architecture using Snowflake to house our enterprise data lake.
  • Design, document, and optimize data pipelines, architectural diagrams, and data models.
  • Document current and future-state data architecture, including people, processes, and technology stack.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust and scalable data solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data stored within the organization.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of new data management technologies and software engineering tools.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on the handling and processing of data, ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Analyst, or similar role in a data-intensive environment.
  • Experience with Snowflake, including best practices for administration, scaling, and performance optimization.
  • Strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and familiarity with migrating legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
  • Knowledge of finance data systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders.
