The position of Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections by leveraging systems and automation. In addition to managing the billing and accounts receivable department, this role owns designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures to optimize the order to cash process. This individual will also support Accounting to ensure accurate revenue accounting treatment, and support Treasury by ensuring timely cash collection by managing DSO’s to the annual plan target.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and timely billing of Company customers for all products and services.
• Upgrade billing and crediting processes by leveraging automation and technology. • Quality Control invoices prior to distribution to reduce monthly credits.
• Create and maintain a process to validate that invoices were received by the customer and queued to pay.
• Manage a team of Billing Specialists, focusing on developing talent and achieving department efficiency KPI’s.
• Develop, monitor, and report key performance indicators for order to cash process.
• Interact with customers and internal departments on questions, issues and problem solving.
• Ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP for all revenue streams.
• Create and maintain the credit approval process for new and existing customers.
• Establish collection procedures and review aging reports to determine appropriate allowances for credit losses. Complete monthly bad debt accrual analysis by working with Project Manager’s to understand customer payment challenges.
• Oversee the timely and accurate cash application process and research of variances from invoice amounts, maintaining minimal levels of unapplied cash for all customers; reconcile customer credits timely with customer AP departments.
• Maintain adequate documentation for external auditor review of billing and collections transactions.
• Develop month-end close procedures pertaining to billing and collections including journal entry preparation, data entry, reconciling and reporting.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Manager Accounts Receivable Job Description Requirements:
• 7 plus years of relevant experience in billing, revenue recognition, collections, and cash application at a similar size organization.
• Previous supervision/management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, financial management or related field.
• Strong analytical, math, process, and research skills.
• Experience with ERP systems preferably NetSuite.
• Ability to be prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI, Teams).
• Intermediate to advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation, basic modeling).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
