The Manager-Quality Assurance (QA) works across all business lines and departments to develop, implement, sustain, and improve all aspects of the quality management program. The Manager-QA will develop strategic plans and implement processes that support company goals and quality culture, and monitor quality performance for results. The Manager-QA will also directly supervise a team of field-based quality control technicians, planning, directing, and overseeing their daily activities. The position requires the ability to effectively communicate and work with company leadership, field management, field crew, sales, contracts, and project management personnel, in addition to customers. Must have Infrastructure Utilies exp. Will not consider IT, Supply Chain or Healthcare. Position requires travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, execute, and report on company-wide strategies, plans, and initiatives that advance the quality culture and performance, while meeting customer expectations and company operational and financial objectives.
- Develop, implement, and oversee quality management system elements.
- Develop, document, and communicate quality-related policies, programs, and procedures.
- Work across business lines to ensure standardized quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) measures are in place, utilized, and effective; identify and apply best practices across the company.
- Work across departments to ensure quality objectives and plans are in place and effective.
- Develop, monitor, and regularly report on metrics that drive continuous improvement in quality performance; analyze data to identify trends and weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver regular communications (alerts, bulletins, memos, presentations, videos) and training (new employees, supervisors) related to quality.
- Supervise field quality control technicians in support of ensuring that customer and company expectations for quality are consistently achieved.
- Review requests for proposals and executed contracts to ensure customer requirements and specifications will be met.
- Participate in customer meetings related to quality requirements and performance.
- Lead or review investigations into quality-related incidents; recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions; communicate lessons learned throughout the company.
- Collaborate with business development and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction issues are resolved.
- Integrate international company locations into quality management program.
- Oversee and manage the quality recognition and award program.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree preferred, in business, engineering, or a science-related discipline.
- Three (3) or more years of quality-related experience; experience with ISO or other quality management systems preferred.
- Experience in the utilities, construction, or field services preferred.
- Experience with directly supervising employees.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and confidently to employees, supervisors, management, and customers. Must be able to write using proper spelling, grammar, and style.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The position may also require the employee to occasionally bend, crouch, kneel, squat, stoop, reach, lift up to 25 pounds, utilize hand and power tools (e.g., hammer, shovel, drill), and work with chemicals (including pesticides).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires working in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, freezing temperatures, uneven terrain, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, animals, and allergens. The employee may also be exposed to chemicals (e.g., pesticides, coatings), energized electrical equipment, and noise exceeding 85 decibels.
TRAVEL
Position requires nationwide, overnight travel, ranging from 25% to 50%.
