Osmose is currently seeking an Engineering Supervisor to provide direct oversight of the activities of engineering technicians and data analysts as well as ensure processing, production, quality and schedules are met for project success.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to technicians; evaluate performance and coach employees; manage time off requests and approve timesheets.
- Participate in all project related internal and external communications including status reports, conference calls, and staff meetings.
- Provide guidance related to training requirements for new and existing Technicians.
- Update and maintain O-Calc Pro catalogs per customer standards and requirements.
- Ensure projects are completed within scope of work as well as within schedule.
- Perform Pole Loading Analyses (PLA) and Make Ready Engineering (MRE) designs using O-Calc Pro.
- Create analysis reports of PLA’s and MRE’s as part of the customer deliverables.
- Use data/project management systems to document and track model progress.
- Consult with Osmose field personnel and customer contacts during project setup to evaluate field data collection, data processing, data validation, quality control validations for use by field foremen/technicians when necessary.
Qualifications
- Must have experience using O-Calc Pro or similar software and knowledge of NESC and/or GO95 standards to perform MRE and PLAs; experience using Notify, NJUNS, SPANS, or other similar systems preferred.
- Understanding of basic engineering concepts, such as strength of materials, loads on structures and member forces, and reactions is desired.
- Understanding of the pole data collection process as well as the tools and methods.
- Experience using data/project management systems to document and track model progress.
- Experience with GIS desired.
- Ability to work on assigned tasks with minimum direction and input from management.
- Must have previous experience leading others in a high productivity work environment.
