Project Estimator/Coordinator

Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to maximize the value of the company's corrosion services by providing accurate, comprehensive, and standardized project estimating. This position will also serve in a project coordination role by developing operational work plans and specifications.

This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Peachtree City, GA, about 35 miles south of Atlanta. The company will consider qualified job candidates who are interested in relocating to this area. 

Responsibilities 

  • Analyze the scope of a project and all requirements; work closely with sales and operations by delivering timely information, documents and cost estimates during the IFP/RFP process. 
  • Review restoration drawings and project specifications created internally and externally for accuracy and clarity with engineering, material procurement and operations.
  • Work closely with engineering to review field images, GoogleEarth maps, and other pertinent data to identify and communicate potential field concerns to company operations.
  • Co-develop and maintain a cost basis matrix for standard and custom materials/coatings.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management to develop project-based operational work plans that includes materials management, site and equipment utilization, resource allocation, addresses site specific safety concerns, construction sequencing, and environmental controls.
  • Provide customer support (internal and external) via phone, email and web as necessary to support Corrosion Services projects. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience with reading, interpreting, and aiding in the development of project documents, including construction/repair drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets.
  • Knowledge or desire to learn welding systems/operations and equipment requirements that support heavy civil construction operations.
  • Previous experience utilizing project management software such as MS Project.
  • Strong leadership qualities (e.g. highly collaborative, effective verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, organized, flexible, accountable).
  • Willingness to travel periodically (air and/or car) and work varied hours, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, to perform site investigations and production studies.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
