Project Manager

Overview

This position plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities for the utility services provided by Osmose. The Project Manager participates in the conceptual development of a project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation. This position works directly with operations, delivery, engineering, business development and management teams, along with the customer, to ensure the project objectives are aligned and with the contracted scope of work. 

Responsibilities

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contracted work scope specifications.
  • Track, manage and resolve project issues as they arise throughout the project life cycle
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients.
  • Formulate reports by extracting required data from various sources concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling, for internal and external distribution.
  • Implement and adhere to the project management process and methodology.
  • Work with contract administrators to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
  • Represent company in customer facing project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Track and reconcile revenue, cost of goods, accruals, and customer invoices using principles of cost accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical degree preferred (computer science, mathematics, statistics, business or other mathematical field) plus a minimum of two (2) years related experience preferably in the utilities/utility services industry.
  • Must have previous experience in project cost accounting (track and reconcile revenue, cost of goods, accruals, invoiced totals)
  • Must have proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • PMP Certification through PMI is preferred.
  • Willingness to work varied hours whenever necessary to achieve the desired results; occasional overnight travel required (20%).
